Adolescent Therapy
The Sleepless Nights Are Unbearable
It’s past midnight and you’re still awake.
The phone has been face-down for an hour, then face-up, then face-down again.
The ceiling hasn’t changed, but your mind keeps changing the channel on you.
That thing you said in the third period. The way she looked at you after.
The text you should have sent. The text you shouldn’t have sent.
The grade. The group chat. The tryouts.
The Monday that’s coming, whether you sleep or not.
You roll over, and the dread doesn’t roll with you. It sits exactly where it was.
Sometimes, it’s anxiety, sharp and fast.
Sometimes, it’s sadness, piercing and quiet.
Sometimes, it’s just a heavy thing on your chest you can’t put a name to.
From the inside, it can feel like you’re the only person in the world up at this hour, carrying this.
You’re not the only one.
Are You Tired of Pretending You’re Fine?
You’re good at the quick answer: “I’m fine.”
Fine in the kitchen, fine in the school hallway, fine in the group chat, fine in the car on the way home.
Underneath it all, there’s a part of you that’s tired of pretending.
That part wants you to stop performing okay… and feel okay for once.
That part is the most honest thing inside you.
It’s the part that wondered if a page like this might be worth reading.
What Therapy with Me Actually Looks Like
I work with teens and their families through the emotional, social, and developmental weather of adolescence.
Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and real.
You won’t be lectured at. You won’t be talked down to.
We’ll start by getting to know what’s going on for you, in your words, at your pace.
Together, we’ll look at the things that keep showing up: the stress, the second-guessing, the friendships that take more than they give, the family stuff, the difficulty focusing, the moods, the anxious nights.
When it helps, I partner with your family so the conversations at home start landing differently.
How Therapy Helps
Adolescent therapy helps teens:
- Better understand and manage emotions.
- Build confidence and self-awareness.
- Navigate relationships and social challenges.
- Improve communication with parents and caregivers.
- Develop tools to manage stress and transitions.
As our work together unfolds, you’ll feel calmer, clearer, more like yourself in your own room and your own skin.
You’ll remember that parts of your life are yours to enjoy.
And you’ll realize, quietly, that you’re not the same person you were a few months ago. You feel better, and life goes better, too.
Getting Started Is Simple
Starting is simpler than you might think.
You (or your parent/guardian) reach out to schedule a first session.
We meet and talk. No pressure, just getting to know what’s going on for you.
Together, we figure out what would actually help you and what you want to work on.
We go at your pace. Nothing forced, nothing rushed.
You don’t have to commit to everything all at once. You just have to take the first step.
